Once was
always will be-
That's what they said, these words echoed in his mind as it went blank. It happened again and like the rest of the times he couldn't control it. A phase that came and went, something from the void of which he lost all reason, as it let him rest for a while as his subconscious roamed free.
There was also another who in the waking depths of its' despair became the one without consolation. An emotionless figure of utter darkness and corruption; traveled the lands and sky looking for the one who it came from. You see these two entities were two sides of the same coin, opposing each other throughout most of their confrontations.
There is an old tale that depicts two similar figures like the two mentioned above; a tale that in its time was considered reality. A battle between the one who wielded light and the other darkness; that's how it's told.
-"In the ruins of an old city, were the scars of battle could still be seen, appeared two. One which had a careless expression and the other who lost it all. Two beings that seemed as if destined to fight over and over; watched each other from a distance. One with eyes that seemed pale and cold, while the other had eyes black as the night sky. In a sudden swing of their swords, they clashed weapons into a unusual stalemate. White and Black flickered and wavered, the tension growing; it seemed as if the colors were melding. Then it began, metal against metal, the sword swings grew more ferocious and quickened. The Light Bringer's sword charm glimmered intensely as the darkness withdrew from its range. Finally one yielded momentarily and evaded the others' attacks, flashes of light and pulses of dark were seen as they both fought. This battle kept going for an indefinite amount of time, as the light-being was riddled with scars and blood; the dark-being seemed unaffected as it had sword marks and bend areas on its metal body. Out of nowhere appeared a mysterious fog that clouded and blinded their perception, to this day no one knows what happened after that fateful battle."-
And so, one spoke calmly with a hint of sadness while the other cried and tried to speak. This is how they interacted every time, even now the 'Nightmare' searches for the 'Guardian'. So that once and for all, he can be whole.
